On Monday, March 24, 2025, a twinning agreement was signed between the English Department at Baghdad College of Economic Sciences University and the English Department at the University of Baghdad, College of Education – Ibn Rushd. The agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Alawi Sader Jaza’a, Dean of the College of Education – Ibn Rushd for Humanities, in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Thahir Abbas, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs at our college, and Professor Dr. Istabraq Rashid, Head of the English Department. The agreement aims to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.

This agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and academic resources between the two departments, as well as to organize joint training programs, workshops, and scientific conferences that contribute to developing the level of education and scientific research in the field of English language and literature.

Representatives from both sides emphasized that this step is part of a strategy to strengthen relations between Iraqi academic institutions, contributing to the development of the linguistic and literary skills of both students and faculty members. The agreement will also provide opportunities for student and faculty exchange between the two departments, thus promoting cultural and academic diversity.
