Department Establishment:

The Department of Anesthesia Technology was established in the 2025-2026 academic year. The Department of Anesthesia Technology at the Iraqi University of Science aims to prepare academically and professionally distinguished personnel in the fields of anesthesia and critical care. These professionals will contribute to supporting the Iraqi healthcare system by providing hospitals and medical centers with highly qualified personnel possessing advanced scientific knowledge and practical skills, while adhering to professional ethics and contributing to scientific research and community service.

These specialists will keep pace with scientific and technological advancements and meet the needs of the healthcare labor market according to the highest quality standards."

Mission:The mission of the Department of Anesthesia Technology is to prepare specialized personnel with the scientific and practical skills to provide safe and effective patient care during surgical procedures and various medical operations. The department strives to implement the latest technologies in the field of anesthesia, promote scientific research, and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare by providing a distinguished educational environment and advanced practical training.

Objectives:

To prepare specialized technical staff with scientific and practical skills in the field of anesthesia and pre- and post-operative care.

To support healthcare institutions with highly qualified personnel capable of working in operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency departments.

To enhance the practical aspect by providing an integrated educational and training environment in cooperation with relevant healthcare institutions.

To advance scientific research in the field of anesthesia and contribute to the development of evidence-based medical practices and techniques.

To instill ethical and professional values ​​in students and encourage them to adhere to safety standards and responsibility.

To provide continuing education and professional development opportunities for graduates of the department and those working in the healthcare sector.

To respond to labor market needs by designing flexible curricula that keep pace with medical and technological advancements in the field of anesthesia.

The current student body consists of 41 students, divided into two groups for practical courses.

There is no graduating class as the department is a newly established program for the academic year 2025-2026.
